Visits with Julie & Jefh and Angela & Rod plus old family photos

Drove down to Hastings after a stop at Battle, scene of the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066 won by Norman the Conqueror. On to Hastings for a look at my Great Grandfathers house at 28 Wellington Sq. By all accounts not much has changed.

We then drove on to Seaford to catch up with Davina’s old school friend Julie and her husband Jefh. The sat nav selected a very scary route through the tiny streets of Alfriston and with the heavy traffic, narrow roads and overhanging tress I managed to only bump the left wing mirror once, but I found parts of the drive very stressful. We spent a lovely few days with Julie and Jefh catching up on old times and visiting some of the local highlights Seven Sisters and Beachy Head pub for lunch, and walking the dog

After completing all the chores on Alfie we headed off to Epsom to spend a few days with Mom’s cousin Angela and her husband Rod. Stayed up late chatting and working through some of the family history and photos.

Headed up to London and spent the day looking around Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, V&A,
