Made a leisurely start on 30 April and headed off on the 30 minute trip to the tunnel at Folkstone. It was a very simple process to check in and clear customs. Left Gigha on the 11:30 ferry and then drove down to the Lake District staying at Waterfoot Campsite close to Lake Ullswater. We started the next day with a walk to Pooley Bridge before driving across the Yorkshire Dales/Moors to The Pheasant Inn camping behind the pub in the car park. Had drinks in the pub by a roaring fire, needed after setting up in the snow flurries.

Drove up to Scotland via an afternoon at Holy Island (Lindisfarne). Camped at North Berwick on a site overlooking a golf course and the sea.
Drove the short distance to Edinburgh, caught the bus from Mortonhall campsite into Edinburgh and walked the town including Queens Mile, Edinburgh Castle Continue reading “Scotland”
After leaving Harrogate we tried to visit Ripon, but after an hour of not being able to find parking , then onto Durham. Had a quick walk around the city reminiscing about when we met and visited the famous Durham Cathedral, then headed on to Wylam. Moved on to St Ives, planned to spend the night here but after about 4 hours of walking around the town, crowded with damn tourists, we decided to head off to Penzance. Drove through the rain down to Farnham and collected our Moustache Samedi e-bikes followed by some shopping and then headed off towards Salisbury. Went past Stonehenge so stopped in just as the sun came out so spent a very pleasant, but cold few hours wandering around the large pebbles. Drove down to Hastings after a stop at Battle, scene of the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066 won by Norman the Conqueror.
