Easter in Wylam and Newcastle and pictures from Bath

After leaving Harrogate we tried to visit Ripon, but after an hour of not being able to find parking , then onto Durham. Had a quick walk around the city reminiscing about when we met and visited the famous Durham Cathedral, then headed on to Wylam. We found a campsite in a field just along the road from the house where Davina grew up.

We spent the weekend catching up with old friends. Lorraine and Richard came up to Wylam for a few hours, walked along Riverside walk. Then went into Newcastle, explored the town and the Laing Art Gallery and then met up with Jon Old and Nikki for drinks whilst dodging the crowds arriving for the football at St James Park.

Also caught up with Joyce Howe, Pat Buckle, Ann and Harry Hardy and Kay Jours in Wylam. In Newcastle we saw D’s old French/fencing teacher Kathleen Pears and then Sue Leeder who was house bound following a foot operation.

Had a very lovely lunch and enjoyable catch up with John and Linda Howe and Joyce Howe.

We also managed to cycle along the North bank trail from Wylam into Newcastle Quayside for a coffee. The weather was extremely cold the whole Easter weekend.
