Drove up to Scotland via an afternoon at Holy Island (Lindisfarne). Camped at North Berwick on a site overlooking a golf course and the sea.
Drove the short distance to Edinburgh, caught the bus from Mortonhall campsite into Edinburgh and walked the town including Queens Mile, Edinburgh Castle
Drove across to Oban via the Falkirk Wheel, (a canal lock with a difference having won a Civil Engineering award) and the northern part of the National Park. Spent the night free camping in the Truck stop in Oban town center. Weather was wet and cold so limited the walking around Oban, ended up having a hot chocolate at the Chocolate factory.
Headed off in the rain down to the Isle of Gigha to visit Christine, Davina’s cousin. Caught the 11:00 ferry to the island, met Alistair McNeil who showed us to Christine’s house, with a nice level spot to park Alfie. As Christine was working in the afternoon we cycled the length (6miles) of the island. Alistair and Christine took us for a fantastic dinner at The Boathouse (mentioned in the Michelin Guide). Spent the next day with Christine talking and walking around the area before a quiet dinner at home.
